De Bonte Koe starts rolling out chocolate bars
SCHIEDAM – A special vending machine with artisanal, sustainable chocolate products from De Bonte Koe is coming to the new food hall Station Bergweg in Rotterdam. The commissioning of this 'chocomat', a vending machine in a self-developed vintage jacket from the eighties with popular products from De Bonte Koe, marks the rollout of multiple vending machines.
Two years ago, on the occasion of its 30th anniversary, De Bonte Koe opened a real vending machine with its chocolate products on the Hoogstraat in Schiedam under the motto 'ready since 1992, now also until late'. This has proven to be very popular.
'The chocolate machine can be seen as the little brother of the vending machine. It is more mobile, you are less likely to miss out because it can hold more stock and it can be cooled more easily. While snack machines are mainly known for their low-quality products, we want to provide visitors to Station Bergweg with the convenience of a vending machine with high-quality, handmade and sustainable chocolate. The chocolate machine will be officially put into use on Friday 22 April 2024 at 6 p.m. We are happy and honoured that Jack Kerklaan, also known as the raging reporter for RTV Rijnmond and uncrowned king of playful entertainment, has now also agreed to inaugurate the chocolate machine in an undoubtedly inimitable way after the opening of the vending machine in 2022', says Amy Klein, owner of De Bonte Koe.
The intention is that the chocomaat will be rolled out further after testing the first version. There are already discussions with other food and entertainment venues.
The chocomat will provide chocolate lovers with various bars, bonbons, bouchées and last-minute gifts such as chocolate cards. These are a nice addition to the products of the food and beverage establishments located in Station Bergweg such as Guerilla Taco's, De Eurobrouwers (originally also from Schiedam), Stooges' and Le Petit Jean.

In addition to the establishment on the Lange Haven and the Hoogstraat in Schiedam where the chocolate products are handmade, there are stores in The Hague (Korte Poten 57 and Piet Heinstraat 59A) and Rotterdam (Lusthofstraat 33A and Nieuwe Binnenweg 112).
